The problem Equimake aims to solve is helping non technical people become more technical as well as providing an affordable platform to deploy your art and code.
I have used other similar projects (Roblox, Second Life and others) and talked to their users. A lot were dissatisfied with the current status quo. Some say that it is too expensive to host your 3D experience, some say that the learning curve is too high and they give up without even trying - this results in 99% of users become consumers and 1% creators. Some even say that they think you need to be a true tech-savvy and it is intimidating for underrepresented people to start getting acquainted with technology and the community. And some simply tried to build but it was difficult to find people that are just as committed as they are to experiment and create.
I believe the world is transitioning more and more towards mental labor in which your technological skills matter. I also noticed a lot of people trying to transition in their careers but they feel like it is being very difficult and lonely without a proper support system.
AI is becoming more affordable too and people are widely incorporating it in their workflows. It seems to me that there will be a barrier between people who know how to use AI and technology to their advantage and those who do not (just like some people are good at Googling and some are not).
I want to achieve it by providing a Web platform that is also available on your Phone and PC. The core of Equimake is community driven creations. A given user can contribute their art or code in a form of "extensions" and also install extensions from other people. An example analogy would be if you had a 3D Word document and you can easily install plugins to it and other people can join and use them simultaneously to collaborate with you.
Extension system and community driven creation will be a "win win" for everybody. Equimake provides a platform which has real time collaboration and enables creative expression combined with real time communication. Some of the success stories in entertainment industries are Roblox (250M MAU), Fortnite (83M MAU), Rec Room (12M MAU). Enterprise success: VS Code, a code editor that has about 30M users and has about 40K community made extensions.
What makes Equimake different? Key differentiator is how affordable the platform is; Competitors charge user by formula: N of servers * $ price per server, in Equimake the user will be charged only for the traffic that is happening in their 3D experiences (MAU count * $ price per MAU). So if you are beginner and nobody visits your 3D world, you won’t get charged a cent. This is very different from competitors because they use Virtual Machines that run 24/7 and are expensive to operate. This results in users taking less risk because it becomes too costly to operate or experiment. Although, Equimake is Freemium it has a monthly subscription plans for extra features and perks.
Equimake is B2C but has an opportunity to be B2B if other businesses would like to adopt it in their workflows. I am not very interested in helping enterprises but if down the road somebody joins Equimake and wants to lead this effort I will be more than happy.
Equimake provides the platform itself, and a very easy and straightforward way to start creating and connecting with people. Equimake manages infrastructure and the user can focus purely on creation or learning.
Equimake also provides a set of templates for the user to start with:
